Personal profile

Liang-Liang Yu: Male, born in 1988, Associate Professor at the Institute of Science and Technology for Deep Space Exploration, Nanjing University;  Gusu Young Professor.  He received his Bachelor's degree in Materials Physics from Nanjing University in 2010, his master's degree in astrometry and astromechanics from Purple Mountain Observatory in 2013, and his doctor’s degree in space Information Technology from Macao University of Science and Technology in 2018.  He worked as a research assistant at Purple Mountain Observatory from 2013 to 2015, as a postdoctoral fellow and assistant professor at the State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences, Macao University of Science and Technology, from 2018 to 2020 and from 2020 to 2023, respectively.  He joined Nanjing University in August 2023.


Research field

Involves the thermodynamics and thermal radiometry of solar system small bodies, terrestrial planets and moons, interstellar small bodies, protoplanetary disks, and other planetary astronomy fields, as well as deep space remote sensing and deep space data research.  He has been a visiting scholar in Taiwan, Japan, Germany, and the United States.  Participated in the research work of JAXA Hayabusa2 target Ryugu, NASA OSIRIS-Rex target Bennu, and the scientific research of China's Chang 'e-2 flight over Toutatis;  To participate in the future "Tianwen 2" small body exploration program and "Tianwen 3" Mars exploration program;  In charge of the National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC)-Youth Fund, Macao Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) project;  Up to now, he has published more than 20 SCI papers in international top astrophysical journals such as MNRAS, ApJ & AJ, and been cited more than 200 times.  He serves as a reviewer for the American Astronomical Association AAS Journal, Geoscience Union JGR-Planets, and other internationally renowned astronomical and planetary science journals.
